by GizmoRN72 Oct 24, '09I have been in nursing since the late 1960's and have been collecting memorabilia from my ‘early’ years. One thing I cannot find is a copy of the poster that used to adorn the hallways of so many hospitals in the 50’s and 60’s. It featured a female nurse with her white uniform, hair tucked up, and nursing cap and she had her index finger vertically across her lips. It was used to encourage quiet by staff and visitors. If anyone knows where I can buy one, I would be most grateful. Thanks.
Print and share with friends and family.
Compliments of allnurses.com.

- Oct 24, '09 by catlynLPNOne of the RNs where I work has a calendar of nurse pictures over the years.
I think it has a picture of a nurse like you describe.
So you might try looking for calendars of nurses. - Oct 25, '09 by weemeeThis might be something to look at....

Good luck -leslie :-D likes this. -
- Jan 24 by Sasko777Hey there became a member so I could answer your question. I was trying to do a bit of research on the photo you're talking about and you're post came up in google. We have recently acquired a copy of the photo. Not sure where you are but my wife works at the Royal Melbourne Hospital Melbourne. She spotted one hanging outside a colleagues office and asked her about it and she told her they used hang all around the hospital in the 50's and 60's. the hospital has an imaging department that has it on file and will print copies for a cost. Not sure if you have to be an employee to use the service, but I reckon if you tell the, you used to be a nurse the would be happy to help you out. Good luck and if you want me to send you a picture of the photo to confirm its the right one. Please feel free to email me on sasa@mpmsoren.comleslie :-D likes this.

Just to let you know this thread about 4 years old.....

Makes you wonder if there aren't any old facilities out there with small fortunes lurking in old store rooms!leslie :-D likes this.
