Good Morning -
It's the second day of 2014 and pretty soon we'll be celebrating 2015 as that new year speeds its way towards us! Yes. Time seems to be going that fast for me. LOL!
It's snowing outside. Actually, at present, it's "dusting" with about 1/2 inch of snow on the ground. This area of the country is predicted to get about 12 inches of snow over the next couple of days. Area schools are already closed. Yet there's only a dusting of snow on the ground. It's days like today when I wish I was back in high school! LOL!
I'm working tonight!
Amy just woke up, a little bit earlier than usual, in preparation to leave for work early because of the snow.
There's only a dusting of snow on the ground (at present).
Had a relaxing day yesterday. Saw the latest version of "The Hobbit" then had a nice dinner out afterwards. Yesterday was our "movie and a dinner" date together. Spent it with Amy's sister and niece who also enjoyed the movie and dinner.
Nothing much else going on. Waiting for the coffee to finish brewing so that I can have First Coffee. Waiting for that coffee pot to "Ding"!
Still waiting. . . still waiting. . . . still waiting. . .
Well. . . I'm going to go downstairs and wait with my loving wife who's watching the news to check the weather. They're still predicting snow.
Keep warm and safe, folks. Peace to all who travel here!

We do "First Footing" because of my father's mother who came to Canada from Scotland. My son was not home so my 5'5" husband took food to neighbors yesterday. The first person over to come in the door is supposed to be a tall dark haired man. DH once had dark hair, but only has a few black hairs among the white ones.
At noon yesterday I went with him to each house and apartment on our block with a Clemintine tangerine for each occupant. We got to talk about their traditions.
Mother and her mother were born in Texas so we have greens and black eyed peas. I made vegetarian jambalaya with rice, tomatos, celery, onions, garlic, peppers and brown rice with already cooked black eyed peas. Some don't like the texture of the peas when cooked alone.
My husband put left over beef gravy on his. He loved it.
I cooked the 31st so could take food to the night shift. I wasn't needed for break relief because other nurses wanted the time and a half.
