Happy Eve of New Year's Eve's Eve: December 29, 2013
- 4Dec 29, '13 by Davey Do GuideA Happy Day to you on this Eve of New Years' Eve's Eve!
Please Correct me if I'm Wrong, but isn't Today the Day before the Day before the Day that's Celabrated, right?
It's a Quiet Niet here at Work and I'm being Paid Good Money for being an RN undergoing Spontaneous Respirations. Duties are Done, Patients are Resting Quietly, and there's nothing on the Horizon until Other Duties later in the A.M.
But I'm not Bored. Only Boring People get Bored. That is, if they merely Sit Around and say things like, "I'm Bored!"
Being Bored can be a Great Motivator. Being Bored can Inspire Neurotics like me to do Something Productive.
As long as Something's Happening. It's like the Late Great Richard Pryor said: "I know somethin's happenin' 'cause everythin's movin'!"
Here's Hoping that the Things that are Moving in Your Day are Good Things!
- 5Dec 29, '13 by Sabby_NC, BSN, RNGood Morning Davey and all who pop in,
Thanks for kicking us off this morning Davey although I had to read the title twice, thought I had missed a day. hahahaha I read you are still working on your vehicle, would love to see a photo some time if you have time. Hope you are able to get the thing going without assistance from anyone else. Ummmm do you have gas in the thing? LOL
Stephanie I do hope you managed to get yourself some good sleep as I know you have been busy with family in the home, work, on call and Christmas tucked in to the mix. So glad you had the baby for several hours but am sad for you having to say goodbye for now. Hang in there my friend.
Hubby spent most of yesterday in bed, he was not feeling well and toss a headache into the mix did not make him feel any better. He did manage to eat a little then I medicated him up and tucked him into bed. He has had a good sleep, I shall see how he feels this morning when he gets up.
Made a nice huge crockpot full of turkey soup so I am hoping that will be nice in his tummy when he is ready for some, sure does smell good I have to say.
Planning on staying home relaxing today, it is pouring outside but am hoping it eases off so I can run the dogs a bit for some exercise. Have a little ironing to get out of the way and a little work related stuff to get done before tomorrow. We are so lucky we get to have our IDG meetings two weeks in a row! Grrrr
Froze the remaining turkey, stuffing and gravy for hubby, I can pull that out anytime to make another yummy meal for him.
Now off to Amazon to find something nice from a gift voucher I received, I am thinking of getting a nice floor lamp as I sure could do with one in the loft.
Hope you all have a most excellent Sunday, enjoy yourselves whether at work or at play.
Be safe if you are traveling in undesirable weather.
Much love to you all.
- 5Dec 29, '13 by aknottedyarnGood morning Davey, Sabby, and all who wander in this bleak Sunday morn. We also have the rain, and will get more later in the day. I am on my way to the shower and then no special plans except to wash the sheets. I am feeling very tired for some reason and the bed is calling me. Well, perhaps a wee nap before the wash gets started. My shower can wait a bit longer.
Have a good day. I am off to nap a bit and relax on this rainy day.

Morning Davey and Steph
Warm day here yesterday, got a bike ride in. Had to stick to the roads, the trails were too snowy and icy. Got the cooking done for the week and some shopping as well. A fairly productive day. Svengoolie had a good one on last night, "The Black Cat" with Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi.
A quieter and colder day today, going to see dad and possibly get outside a little more before it really gets cold. Kind of like having quiet Sundays.
- 5Dec 29, '13 by BCgradnurse GuideI had a nice, long eloquent post written, and then somehow deleted it. Meh. It's good to see Davey and AKY back. You were both missed. Sabby-I hope Joey is better today. Joe-I'm with you on quiet Sundays. Don't tell anyone, but sometimes I stay in my pajamas all day.
I'm going to spend today working on my France trip planning. DD and I are going for 8-10 days, and my sister and mother will spend 4 days with us in Paris. Mom has always dreamed of going to Paris, but spent most of her adult life working, taking care of kids and her elderly mother, and then my father. It's time for her to have some fun, She's 81, but is very healthy and active. I have the Paris hotel booked, now I just need to decide where to stay in Provence. This trip means many more Saturdays in Urgent Care, but it will be well worth it.
Hope everyone is relaxing today. Be well and have some fun.
- 5Sabby, I hope Joey is feeling better today, has had time to restore strength.
Yay for NSR!
BC, sounds like a wonderful trip! I'm sure your mom will be thrilled with it (as will all the rest!)!
(shhhhhhhh!! aky is sleeping! )
Davey, your musings about boredom reminded me of a plaque hanging in my 7th grade science class: Being bored is an insult to one's self.
Today is the usual: catching up on internet stuff, grocery shopping, laundry.
Let the routine begin!
Y'all have a good one.
- 3Dec 29, '13 by "Ted", BSN, RNGood Afternoon -
I see they've upgraded the web-site. I'm experiencing some "kinks", especially with the web-pages loading up. But I like the overall look so far.
Just got back from church. Choir sounded lovely as always. I have quite the headache. I think I'm getting a sinus infection. Blech! Took some Ibuprofin which is my drug of choice for such matters. Gonna relax and hopefully finish a video-project that I started for my father. Also hope to continue on writing this orchestral composition that I started a number of weeks ago. We'll see.
Sabby_NC - holding your hubby and you in my prayers as he continues on with this healing.
Well. . . got to get going. . . Gonna take a little nap (and hope this headache goes away soon).
Warm regards to all.

Along the Lines of Something Will Rogers said, "Everybody wants things to get better, but nobody likes change", I don't either.
Stopped by my Sister Cat's this Morning on the way Home from Work, attempted to get her started on this Site, and was Immediately Disoriented, Confused, and All Shook Up!
Oh, and BTW: I have no Like Buttons, so you All will be getting No Positive Reinforcements from me Anytime Soon!
Jeez! You'd THINK they'd give Me some sort of Notice with Directions before they moved me to An Alternate Level of Reality!
