Good Morning! January 22, 2014
- 5Good Morning! to All Who Enter Here.
Even though I believe I'm One of the Most Interesting People I know (I really don't Get Out as much as I Should), I don't think I Talk About Myself Quite Enough.
So, Here Goes:
In an Attempt to come up with a Subject to Discuss, I Thought About the Subject of Time. The Thought of Time made me think of a Poem I Wrote To my High School Sweetie. Her name was Carol. I wrote the Poem to her at the End of Study Hall Period.
It went like This:
"The Clock goes 'Round.
The Pencil Wears Down.
I have to Go,
So, Good-bye Carol!"
Okay. I started the Thread. It is now up to you to Continue it.
Have a Good Day.
- 5Jan 22 by Sabby_NC, BSN, RNGood Morning Davey and all that come along,
LOL Davey I always thought time was irrelevant but you know tick tock it waits for no one. Loved your l'il prose to Carol.
Goodness me it is ridiculously cold out there, I let the dogs out and I am sure my nasal hairs froze and fell off. With that wind it is brutally cold so I will be leaving the dogs in and come home during the day to let them out and tinkle before going back it. Way too unsafe to leave them out in single digit figures.
Snowed while we were having our IDG and staff meeting but our medical receptionist and I took full praise for that as we ran around outside doing a snow dance. LOL Too funny but it was fun just to run around like a kid and not have a care in the world. Our staff just laughed at us while we froze our tooshies off. LOL
Not sure how it is weather wise out there, it rained overnight and with single digits there is sure to be ice so it will be a wait and see proposition before deciding if it is safe to head off to the office first thing. I do not have as many visits this day but do have to swing by the Hospice House to visit with one of my patients whom I hope will be home soon.
Well my first attempt at crab cakes turned out Purdy good per the hubby, he scoffed them down. I cooked some taters and asparagus with them. He has enough to take a meal to work today so he does not have to go out in this steenkin' weather. I am such a good wife. Hahahahaha
Hope you are all keeping warm and for those that are getting huge dumps of snow please be safe and if necessary stay home. I cannot imagine all that snow and having to get out in it. Just gave myself the chills thinking about it.
Ok off to quietly slurp this cup of tea while I contemplate what mischief I can get up to today.
Much love to you all.

Oy, another night of poor sleep, and a headache as well. Not sure what is going on. After some pills and caffeine I'm feeling pretty good, hopefully I'll continue to feel OK as it gets later in the day.
Have to drive to work today, got to make a brief visit before work to a mental hospital to see a patient who I've been trying to reach for a while. He might not want to talk to me, but at least I can say I made all necessary efforts to reach him. Yesterday was a bit crazy and disorganized work-wise but otherwise not too bad. Hoping today will be the same.
Hoping my car door is working right this morning too. Last night the driver's door would only open from the outside. If it hasn't resolved on it's own I'll have to give it to the mechanic. And figure out how to get to and from the train until it's fixed: walk, cab, or rental. Not helping that it's so cold and snowy.

I had a tough time sleeping last night, also. For me it was the tinnitus. Finally got to sleep thinking I would have to go in to be a juror later this a.m. Awoke and checked to find out that now I have to go in tomorrow. That is because the weather has been so bad. Today wind chills of -10 to -15, ambient temp of 4F. Obviously I have lived in much worse but then I had the right clothes, and the buildings were set up to keep the cold out. We have about 1 foot of snow. The dog is staying in. Her little feet would freeze no matter what I put on her back. Yesterday I dressed her as warmly as I could to go out, alas, she made a bee line back home while I was worrying about slipping on ice.
Crab cakes sound wonderful. We actually have some crab legs in the freezer waiting for a great time for them. Around here you find many connoisseurs of crab cakes. I have meatballs in the oven for later and am thinking about making some chicken-corn chowder soup. Cold weather always puts me in the mood to cook or bake.
Ready for the next cup of grog and then will finish a load of clothes and work on the kitchen. I would love to clean out one of the drawers that collects plastic. I really don't need that much.
Thinking of BC packing her bikini for this "conference". I still want to be considered for her luggage carrier. I guess it is not in my cards.
Have a safe day out there. Sabby, be careful on those roads!
