Good Morning! 2/10/14

Hello and good morning everyone. Welcome to the Good Morning thread. All are welcome and encouraged to join us.

Spent the evening (2/9) rocking to the great special about the Beatles. The end of the show was so good with Paul and Ringo doing so many great songs. During commercials, we switched over to the Olympics.

It is still raining hard but should clear up by morning and be sunny. It isn't cold enough to start a fire.

Monday is hospice day for me. Our manager is pretty sick with N&V and also lost her brother this weekend to an illness.

Yesterday (2/9) was my mom's 78th birthday. I haven't heard anything new from my brother about her. Not sure if they found a placement.

I'll be back in the real morning for coffee.

    Happy Monday!

I've heard of The Beatles... There was Four of them, wasn't there?

When you were "rocking", steph, do you mean as in to "Rock Out" or as in a "Rocking Chair"?

Excuse me. I need to continue to Hone my Skills as an Antagonist. How am I doing?

    As if I Cared.

But I really do. And I really Care if my Break Room Buddies have a Good Day.

    "Really", to quote Ted (efiebke).

I Love you all and I just Need to be Loved back.

    That's all I Need.

That, and my Basic Physiological Needs, the Rest of Maslow's Need Hierarchy, with some Hedonistic, Self-Serving, Narcissistic Perks thrown in for Good Measure.

    Okay? Have a Good Day!

Good Morning Stephanie, Davey and all who pop in,

Thanks for starting us off Stephanie, loved the Beatles and I am sure you enjoyed the music. So sorry to read about the issues your manager is going through, prayers of comfort for her in the loss of her brother.

Davey you do just fine mate mind you I do not think you are antagonistic, just an amazing sense of humor and quick wit. Hope you have a most excellent day.

Hiked our little legs off yesterday, went to a different trail that traversed up the side of a mountain, over creeks, again jumping over rocks and logs but oh what fun. Saw lots of deer tracks and other animal tracks along the path we walked. We really enjoyed our time and both dogs were comatose in the truck as hubby drove home. LOL I think they are still exhausted both on the sofa sleeping. LOL

Looks like we have some yucky weather coming up from the South which is never a good sign, still they just said they are not sure which areas are going to get snow, snow and ice, ice or freezing rain. JOY not!! Praying it swings by us completely.

Hope you all have a most excellent day no matter what you get up to. May it be productive along the way.

    Take care and be safe.

Much love to you all (yes Davey that does include you too)

    Morning Steph Davey Sabby

Yesterday was a fairly quiet day for me, did a little shopping and some cooking and not a lot else. Did manage to get outside for a while to walk in the snow, which was pretty exhausting.

Up for the start of another work week. Hopefully this one will go by as fast as the last one did.

    Thanks, Sabby.

Say, if you keep up this Act of Being Chronically Sweet and Optimistic, I'm going to find it Difficult to Have Fun near you.

See what you can do about that, okay?

    Love you more.

    Good Morning -

It's 8:59 AM (EST), sunny with a temperature of 12 degrees outside. It's a nice day here. LOL!

I'm sorry that I missed watching the Beatles show last night. Didn't know that special was on until after the fact. I remember watching the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show back in the mid-1960s. It was most probably a re-run of the show. I've been a fan of the Beatles since then. It's my belief that their music was way ahead of its time. It still is to my modest ears. One of my favorite song by them is the tune, "Martha, My Dear" which (if I remember correctly) is found the Beatle's White Album. Paul wrote it in dedication to his dog.

Davey Do - You say that you "really" care. But do you "really, really, really" care? It makes a difference. You only used one "really" and it seems a bit anemic. LOL!

Happy Birthday to your mom, Steph.

Sabby_NC - You are quite the hiker! Amy and I talked about going snow-shoeing yesterday. Actually, we were going to after eating lunch. We ate lunch. It tasted good. Then we caved in to our desire to just watch television. Granted, the activity involved in watching television is much less than hiking or snow-shoeing, but it's much more comfortable (especially with the temperature being in the 'teens outside). LOL! This frumpy body of mine really (really, really, really) needs to exercise more.

Joe - Quiet days are good in my book! Hope you got some needed "R & R" with the quiet.

An acquaintance friend of mine shared a YouTube video on Facebook that I thought you all might like to watch. He's a pharmacist who holds a passion in cartooning and animation. Davey-Do, I'm especially thinking of you in sharing this, buddy. I really, really, really am! LOL! I know this pharmacist/animator through when we did the production of "Who's Got the Keys?" way back in the mid-1990s. He did the opening animation to the video of that show. I say this because I firmly believe in giving credit where credit is due. Like my acquaintance-friend, I also hold a keen interest in cartooning and animation. I used to go to animation festivals back when I was in music college. Animation has been around for a long, long time actually. This particular YouTube video shows what I believe to be the FIRST keyframe animation ever made. Being 12 minutes, the video is long. But, it's well worth the watch. For those who also enjoy history, hopefully this non-talking film with animation peeks your interest. It's been 100 years since this first keyframe animation was produced. Enjoy.

Well, I chose "rocking" on purpose because I didn't get up and dance. I was sitting on the couch. It was fun to see the audience of old people rocking out though. Tom Hank's wife was really rocking out! I loved it. (I will say Yoko Ono was kind of an odd dancer but then . . . . that's Yoko). Oh and Davey - surprisingly The Beatles have a song written just for you . . .All You Need Is Love. You should listen to it.

Ted - even though this was in remembrance of that appearance on Ed's show, it wasn't just reruns of that show. Other bands/singer covered songs for most of the show. Throughout the show they did a history of each Beatle. Oh, and George Harrison's son was on stage playing guitar and singing. Then at the end, Ringo did 3 and then Paul did 3 and then they got up there together and did more. It was a great show really.

(Lunchtime) . . . I will say I didn't like Katy Perry's rendition of Yesterday and saw that I'm not alone.

    It was a good show.
Nice to see Dani Harrison sing and Sean Lennon with Yoko in the audience.
    And Ed Sullivan's grandson.
