- 2Nov 1, '13 by Sabby_NCGood Morning Dear Friends,
Firstly I am still giggling Ted, you crack me up and make my day.
Poor nights sleep for me with that steenkin' belly pain but feel some better today and sipping nicely on my cup of tea.
Have not much on the burner today other than a few visits so I really need to get my tail out and get ready for work.
Will chat with you all later,
Much love to you all.

I'm pretty tired this morning, not sure why. Wonder if it was the glass of wine I had last night. Some wines leave me tired with a headache, others don't. Perhaps it has to do with the sulfite content.
Stomach seems to be settling down, not sure why it was acting up. Perhaps it was something I ate, or a change in diet.
Work went fine yesterday, should be OK today too. Got the grocery shopping done last night and got back in time for "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown".
Hope to get a chance to ride my bike tomorrow, hoping the rain that's predicted for the morning holds off for a while.
- 3Nov 1, '13 by EMSnut45Good morning!!
Its been a windy, rainy, dreary day. We desperately need the rain, though.
My sister works at an adult daycare for the developmentally disabled. They had an awesome Halloween party yesterday and I was invited. It was so heartwarming to see the individualized care that the clients receive. Many of them do not have families, so the workers are their family. It's also so neat to see my sister in her "adult" stage. She amazes me in how much she cares about her "kids" (that's what she calls the clients).
I work night shift tonight, so I'm going to take it easy. With the rain, more patients will require ground transport since the helicopters are grounded. That's a perfect recipe for a busy shift!
AKY-- I hope you had an "easier" day yesterday. Those boxes can wait until you feel up to it. You'll continue to be in my thoughts today.

EMS - Your sis is one of my heroes. There is a family who started a "ranch" about 30 years ago called "The Mountain Jewels Ranch". It is a working ranch but also a place for developmentally disabled adults to live and work. They've been members of our church for all those years. The owner officiated my wedding. They are a huge part of this small town and support our local high school kids at all their games and recitals and other events. They also have a basketball team that goes to Special Olympics - coached by local high school basketball players. My kids grew up knowing they were not strange or unwelcome and are better for knowing them. Here's some photos from a local news story:

Others who know me here know I go off on a tangent sometimes about these folks. So, they'll forgive me if I repeat myself.
Kind of a quiet Halloween night. I fell off the low-carb wagon and ate some of Spidey's candy . . . . when those Gobstoppers are just sitting there staring at you and tempting you, it is very hard to say NO!
Better get Spidey up. You all have a good Friday.
- 3Nov 1, '13 by NF_eyenurse GuideGood morning Sabby, Joe, EMSnut, Steph, and all who will visit this cozy Friday thread.
I woke up tired and in "5 more minutes" mode. My hubby took our son to school and now I'm sitting with a blanket on my lap, sipping my tea and eating some vanilla wafers. I wish I could lay around for a few more hours to wake up but I have 40 minutes before I need to get things together and get going. I was planning on working on my budget but wanted to say hello to you all first.
I stayed a little late at work last night with a surgery then met my husband and son at our church's festival. There was a great turn out. My favorite car (trunk or treat) was a minivan "dressed" as a whale, the back opening served as the mouth and the owner's daughter (with a fake beard) was Jonah. It was great, made me laugh. I better get going and work on my budget now.
- 1Nov 2, '13 by dianah Senior ModeratorGood evening all.
Tomorrow we will be helping with music at a small-ish Sabbath School at The Big Church,
having lunch with whichever "kids" are available (usually youngest and his gf), then
coming home to pack so we can camp in a friend's back yard, with two other rigs (his and another friend's).
We will jam in the afternoon and evening, have breakfast Sunday morning then the band will play from 12-3 at Oak Glen (apple country).
We will jam again in the evening, and camp Sunday nite (dh and I took Monday off).
It will be REALLY good to play with the band whole, again!!
Just bought groceries and stocked up the camper.
Had a busy day today, got off a little late but not too bad, and then had dinner at Spaghetti Factory (with dh and our fiddler).
Be safe, and hope the weekend is a good one.
