- 4Feb 28 by Sabby_NC, BSN, RNGood Morning to you all,
Ok who stole February? I cannot believe it is already the last day of the month!
Great day yesterday which included some research, time spent with a family who lost their loved one. Requested the entire hospice team come to the house the day after the funeral. WOW what a special time of meeting with this family, so gracious and kind to us, I left in tears although happy and grateful tears.
Medicare are making more changes which are to commence July 1st so I did my own research and reading before we have a 4 hour meeting/ lecture to learn how to apply the new items.
Did some patient visits which included a lot of laughs. Gosh my patients tickle me and have me giggling with them.
Will have a consult to do this afternoon for potential admission and then I may just head on home.
So looking forward to the weekend of donning hiking boots and getting outside.
Hope you are all doing well this day. Enjoy what ever it is you get up to and stay safe.
Much love to you all.

Good Morning, Sabby and Posterity!
Sabby- the way in which you Interact with your patients is Incredible. Helping Patients and Loved One Deal With their Demise and being able to find some Joy in All That is an Extraordinary Pursuit. You Work your Wonderful Ways, my Dear.
I'm back at Work Tonight and the Census remains low. And can you Believe it? My Co-Worker did not even Miss me! Oh- My Co-Worker did say she talked about me. Something along the lines of, "Dave's not here."
Alas. How soon they forget...
Have a Good Day!
- 4Feb 28 by aknottedyarnGood morning Sabby, Davey and all who stop by. Davey your comment of never do it again reminded me of this song. I first saw it in concert sung by the Serendipity Singers.
Well, what a way to start Friday.
I have been on my own at work a lot the last couple of days and again today. Not ready to be doing solo, kinds of reminds me of many years of nursing. The difference is that now I sell furniture. No lives at stake. We all had a good laugh yesterday when I reminded my mentor of that fact.
Off this weekend when we are expecting another big storm. This is the same one that is dumping water on CA. Prayers for those in the path of that storm where the rain is making everything so unsafe. Official now. I am tired of this winter. Tired of it in a way I have never quite experienced. If we get snowed in I will make bread and apple pie and kick back and relax.
Have a wonderful day and start to the weekend, especially if you are not working. We already know that if you are working you will make the best of it and smile as you help so many. My thank you to all the nurses out there who do not get the "you" deserved.

At home now, waiting to talk to our tech support people yet again and get my phone working. I think I have the right person now. If this works I'll be ready to start from home by Monday.
I don't have my work supplies, so even if this does work I'll have to head into work anyway and collect everything. And I have a few things to do at work too. Hope the traffic isn't too bad.
Yesterday at work went OK, busy but not too bad. Got the grocery shopping done yesterday too. Glad to be past the most strict phase of the low carb diet, it makes shopping easier.

Ted: I remember that song was on the radio whem I was a little kids. One summer my sisters, some cousins, and I put on a how using that song.
My sister wanted to wear our cousin's grandmother's Cherokee ceremonial gown, but it was too big and grown-ups wouldn't let us play with it. she put on a costume headdress that only a man would wear at a Pow Wow.
It was so overacted. My sister pretended to be playing when she shot our cousin. She broke into "I Didn't Know the Gun Was Loaded".
Then we all sang "Red Wing"
- 4Feb 28 by Spidey's mom, ADN, BSN, RN GuideMorning all. Yes it has been rainy here; more expected today. We need it though. Our snowpack is nil too - this storm is warm so the snow level is high. Not that I want snow here!
We have to take The Sphinx to school today - the report was due last Friday and the representation of the subject of the report due today. The school is having a read-a-thon. Kids come dressed as their fav character. Not sure I see how this will change what happens at home when parents plop their little darlings in front of the tv and not read to/with them. But I'm a skeptic.
Sabby, we've responded to families requests like that too - our volunteers are so amazing as I'm sure all volunteers are. We are planning our hospice dinner/dance for March 29. Our bereavement class just started up. Life goes on . .
Hope you all have a lovely Friday.

Who stole February?? I'd like to find whoever did it and make them take March, too. Then we could just start April, with warmer temps and hopefully no more snow. This seems like the longest winter ever. Another big storm is expected on Sunday/Monday. Today is frigid, but I feel if I don't get out for some fresh air and sunshine, my head will explode. I'll bundle up like the Michelin man and waddle down the road.
Off I go before I lose my momentum. Take care all, and have a great Friday.
- 4Feb 28 by Ted, BSN, RNGood Morning (and soon to be Good Afternoon)!
Just woke up. It's what one generally does after sleeping.
Right now. . . Amy is 15 minutes awake from beginning the OR Certification exam. She seems quite ready. She sure has been faithful with her studies in preparing for the exam. Our plan is to celebrate tomorrow with a fun afternoon out together. We'll be doing this whether she passes or does not pass. Me thinks she'll pass, though.
Tonight is the third of three nights in a row. Work was in the "Goldie Locks" zone last night. A little time floating down to the ER. Then admitted an ER patient to the CCU and spent the rest of the night on my "home" unit doing the CCU thing. I really do like providing such continuity of care.
Joe - I really hope that the whole working at home thing works out for you. I wish you well with that endeavor.
Sabby_NC - Where the heck did February go?!? A month's time seems like a week has flown by. Could this be time travel? LOL!
Yikes. . . . I hear the dogs barking outside! They don't have their "special" collars on because they're getting repaired! Gotta go before they go. . . go. . . go. . .
