What is your favorite Bible verse?

  1. 5 Of course, I have a lot of favorite Bible verses. However, I choose my favorite two. :-)

    "Yet true godliness with contentment is itself great wealth. After all, we brought nothing with us when we came into the world, and we can't take anything with us when we leave it." Timothy 6:6-7

    "The world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come." Hebrews 13:14

    So, what is your favorite Bible verse?

    I am not devoutly religious, but I am spiritual and believe in God and the power of prayer. My favorite biblical verse is the following:

    "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." - Philippians 4:13

    I am not a Bible scholar and never learned verses. Here is one I like:
    For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
    - Galatians 5:13-14 (NASB)

    Matthew 23:14

    Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

    Being Catholic, I wasn't raised reading a lot of the bible. I don't know specific passages or verses.
    One of my most treasured memories is midnight mass on Christmas Eve, (when you actually went to church at midnight). It was cold, the lights were lowered, and the bible account of the birth of Jesus was read. It was beautiful.

    Here are a few:

    Proverbs 3:5
    Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
    And lean not on your own understanding;
    In all your ways acknowledge Him,
    And He shall direct your paths.

    Phil 4:6
    Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.

    The Lord your God is with you,
    the Mighty Warrior who saves.
    He will take great delight in you;
    in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
    but will rejoice over you with singing."

    Matthew 25:35-40 (New International Version) For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
    Matthew 5:9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God."
    Luke 6:27 “But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,
