- May 30, '09 by HippyGreenPeaceChickThe thing to do as I see it is do not count this or Hawthorne either as a reflection of our profession, just consider it as entertainment. At work this evening I did have a patient ask if work was like what he saw on ER or Nurse Jackie. And he asked if I knew the pharmacist that was on duty. I have no idea who the pharmacist that was on who he or she was. When I started his IV I did switch from a 20 gauge to a 16 gauge. Just seemed like the thing to do. For a bit there he did stop staring at my cleavage. There even is not that much to stare at. Oh well, such are the little things in life.Cherybaby and crazensweet like this.
- May 30, '09 by ChayaChameleonI liked it...but then again I love Edie Falco....and many Showtime series like Dexter and Weeds. I didn't realize she was married w/ children though. I love how they get you w/ the cliffhanger.

- May 30, '09 by nursel56Just tonight I was driving with a friend to dinner, and he said, "Oh, look! That nurse is flipping us off!

Turned to look just as a bus rolled by with a big ad on the side, close-up of nurse holding syringe in "flip off" fashion. Oh. Hi, nurse Jackie.:imbar

- May 31, '09 by shocker29I don't like it when nurses are potrayed in a negative light, or especially when doctors get the kudos for the things we do. When the most/only interaction that the public gets with nurses is with inaccurate accounts of nursing on "Nurse Jackie," House, Grey's Anatomy, etc., then that is what they form the opinion of the profession on. I'm sure you guys have had patients treat you like garbage, but the physicians like "gods." It would be nice for once for a show to show what nurses really do in a positive light. Come on, when is the last time one of you stowed away to have sex in the linen closet at work. Please...:angryfirecrazensweet and Angie O'Plasty, RN like this.
- May 31, '09 by newtressI fully agree with what Shocker29 has said. I realize now I am a minority as a new nurse that thinks the stigma attached to nurses is bad enough and now we are cast in a light that is not too professional. People get so deep into these rediculous characters portrayed on these pay channels. I'm sure I will be :angryfire for saying this, but I think how this character is being portrayed and introduced to the audience from what I've seen so far is one word: Idiot. The entertainment media in this country, and others too, seems to all be based now on how screwed up someone is, or who where and how they can score some meaningless sexual conquests. I'd just like to see some better writers coming up with something other than the same old predictable story line as mentioned above. Looking forward to seeing HawthoRN and Mercy.crazensweet likes this.

- May 31, '09 by oramarQuote from marilynmomDon't think I will be watching it. Just what you said here puts me off.I have DirecTv and saw part of it tonight. I saw the nursing student go off to deliver the cart of chemo meds and Jackie banging that guy in the supply room....lol. I wasn't impressed but maybe I'll watch another episode and see, I saw they had the first few episodes on channel 101.
Maybe the one with Jada Pinkett Smith will be better? - May 31, '09 by ChayaChameleonQuote from I love my cat!Same here!I thought it was great! Then again, I am not offended easily and I have a pretty twisted sense of humor.
