It seriously made me mad. Their " DC" of life support was ridiculous!!! They shut off the vent, and disconnected it but left the ETT in!! And he struggled because they didn't start him on morphine!! *****???

Cruel, I tell you! But I know it's tv.

I have them all tivo'ed but have not watched them yet. Keeping that in mind, I know in real life, if the patient is to have an autopsy, all tubes, foleys, ETT, IVs, etc. must remain in place to be removed by the coroner.

Ahh, OK, interesting. I remember seeing that all the time on ER.

I asked the coroner's investigator if we had to leave everything in one tome and was told I didn't have to. But in most cases you do leave everything.

No autopsy, no investigation. Just a do of life support for a young guy who had a massive stroke. They whole idea of that was there was a fight about trying to operate or give a peaceful death. They decided on the peaceful death and DC of life support. That wasn't the way to do it.
