makeup foundations?

Can anyone recommend a good makeup foundation to use? I have severe hot flashes all the time, and my foundation just seems to melt, then cake onto my face and into my pores. It looks horrible! I've tried different types - L'Oreal, Lancôme, Chanel and others, and each does the same thing. I was thinking perhaps waterproof foundation might help, but I don't want to feel like I'm wearing a mask, either. It seems using a primer and/or BB cream made it worse....
This menopause stuff is for the birds! That's what I feel like when I see myself with my melted makeup on

    Has anyone else experienced this?

    Thanks,

While I haven't had personal experiences with hot flashes (yet), I do sweat profusely due to living in a hot climate in addition to jogging for exercise.

I also never leave the house without foundation because my skin contains discolorations and blemishes. I have been using the Mary Kay medium coverage foundation since 2009 with moderate success.

I went through menopause without much difficulty, then got cancer and had to take hormone therapy. Now, I have hot flashes on top of my hot flashes! Bare Minerals make-up gets me through without melting.

Thanks Ruby and Commuter for the ideas. I read on line about Rimmel cosmetics having a waterproof version of foundation at a reasonable price. I'm trying it today and will let you know how it works.
I've tried both Mary Kay and Bare Minerals but that was pre-hot flash era. If Rimmel doesn't work, I'll try them again. I'm also very excited to learn that my chiropractor has added an acupuncturist to her wellness staff. This was my next step in finding relief but I was couldn't find anyone in my area, then this popped up. Yeah!!!
    Again, thanks for your help,

I have oily skin and Mac Face and Body foundation works for me. It gives you a very natural look. You can go any Macys or Mac store and ask them to apply the foundation to your skin.

Estee lauder double wear, just a tiny bit. But first (this is going to sound funny) dab Milk of Magnesia around your face, just a little, if you see white then rinse and pt dry. Then estee lauder double wear and some powder on T area. I have the red shiny sweaty face problem, and this is the only makeup that stays on until I get home. And my face does not breakout. Hope you find something that works!!

Face and Body Foundation by MAC is amazing. I live in an area where it can get to 120 degrees during the summer and I sweat like a sinner in church. It's an awesome foundation that can really hold it's own. It's for light to medium coverage, but I'm pretty sure you wouldn't want full coverage with hot flashes/sweating anyway. The Synchronised Swimmers from the US Olympic team wore it and if their make up was still a 10 when they got out the water it's totally worth a try.

Note that the make up a pretty watery so I apply it with my fingers. It's really light and I forget that I have it on. I have sensitive skin and really dry skin so it's important I have something that's light and won't dry my face out.

I live in a hot, muggy, humid climate. I have been using Clinique "super powder, double face powder" for quite some time now. I love it. I use it instead of foundation; it is so easy to carry a powder compact around for touch-ups. I wear it directly on my face, without any foundation. It covers everything. However, if you must use a liquid or cream foundation, use a loose talc-free powder (L'Oreal makes one called "Hydra Perfecte Loose Powder" to set the foundation. Just a little applied with a brush. Due to the humidity, if I wore foundation, BB creams, etc., my face would melt!

Clinique Even Better! I put on a thin layer and use physician's formula mineral loose powder to set it!
